IMPORTANT: Regarding the changes to CAPCOM ID service
Thank you for using CAPCOM ID.
Starting on January 15, 2025, there will be changes to the CAPCOM ID service, as further described below.
※The CAPCOM ID Terms of Service and CAPCOM ID Privacy Policy will also be modified due to the changes. You will be required to give consent to the new Terms of Service and Privacy Policy in order to continue to use the Service.
【Description of Changes to the Service】
・Expansion of age scope of the Service
Minors under age of 13 will be eligible to use CACPOM ID service, regardless of their country/region of residence.
・New contents to notification services e.g. newsletters
New contents, as listed below, will be added to the service.
・Recommended items/service introduction (English)
・CAPCOM newsletter (English)
・Monster Hunter Portal Newsletter (English)
・Various questionnaires and advertisements regarding our products and services.
※You will be able to choose whether you wish to receive these contents by accessing “Notification Settings” which can be found within your “My page” of CAPCOM ID website.
・Contacting legal guardians and obtaining parental consent
When we find that a user is under certain years of age, we will reach out to the legal guardian of the user in question to ask for parental consent to our process of user’s personal data. Parental consent will be required to continue to use the CACPOM ID service.
We carry out this process to protect personal data of minors and comply with global privacy laws and regulations.
・Restrictions to notification services.
Users under 18 years of age residing outside of Japan will no longer be able to use the notification services.
We have carried out this measure taking into consideration the impact of advertising and marketing activities on minors and also to comply with global privacy and consumer laws.
Additionally, in the event we find a user is residing in a country/region where the privacy law sets forth “analysis and assessment of the behavior of a natural person” or a similar concept as a requirement for extraterritorial application of such law, and we find it extremely difficult to comply with such law when applied, users of such country/region will not be eligible to use our notification service regardless of their age. For more information regarding “Analysis and assessment,” please refer to the link below.
